I frequently work with top directors such as Terence Davies, Danny Boyle, Ken Loach, Tom Ford, Julien Temple and John Pilger.
I am perhaps best known for my work as archive producer on the Oscar winning The Imitation Game (drama on the British WWII code breaking genius Alan Turing) and on the archive feature Of Time and the City (directed by Terence Davies) which premiered in Cannes to rave reviews. It was voted best non-fiction film by the New York Film Critics Circle was BAFTA nominated and featured in the Time magazine’s top 10 films of 2009.

In the past few years Ken Loach’s The Spirit of ’45, Turner Prize short-listed All Divided Selves, Perfect Sense and Tony Benn:Will and Testament are important films I worked on as archive producer. My first feature film job was as researcher on Nick Hornby’s Fever Pitch.
I have been employed by all the major UK Channels on programmes ranging from the BBC’s Fantasy Football League to Channel 4’s Dispatches and Thatcher’s Children.
My interest and passion for sport has led to me to work for the BBC on the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, Wheels on Fire (UK cycling), Torvill & Dean’s:The Perfect Day, Not Cricket- The Basil D’Olivera Story, The Ultimate Rulebreakers, They Think It’s All Over, Focus and Match of the Day.
I also produced and directed a 2 hour special for Sky profiling 50 of the Premiership’s greatest foreign players including Ronaldo, Roy Keane, Eric Cantona and Thierry Henry.

During 2013 – 2o14 I worked closely with the producer and edit teams in LA and London as the archive producer/film researcher on The Imitation Game (Benedict Cumberbatch plays Alan Turing who breaks the Enigma code during World War II saving millions of lives). The film won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay having been nominated for 8 Academy Awards, 9 BAFTAS and 5 Golden Globes including “Best Film”.
Of Time and the City, first screened at Cannes and BAFTA nominated, was in Time magazine’s top ten films of 2009, it was also voted best non-fiction film by the New York’s Film Critic’s Circle.
I have worked for many of the UK’s leading TV and film companies: Working Title, IWC, Avalon, Nutopia, Passion Pictures, Fulwell73, Endemol, Hurricane Films, Mentorn, Shine, Talkback, Sigma Films, Nine Lives Media also for Ken Loach and Ringo Starr. BBC, Channel 4, ITV, The Discovery Channel, five and Sky TV have all broadcast my work as a producer/director/co-producer/assistant producer/archive producer.
I am also a freelance BBC producer, archive producer and film researcher so know the vast BBC archives well. Factual entertainment, popular culture and sports footage (football and Olympics in particular) are some of my specialist subjects.
In 2017 I worked on BBC1’s Fern Britton meets… series and in 2014 on: Torvill & Dean’s Perfect Day – telling the story of the day in 1984 in Sarajevo when Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean ice danced the Bolero winning Olympic gold.
In 2014 I worked on Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games adverts; Dispatches, Lockerbie 25 years on; a Made in Africa promo and 2 short films about the achievements of Prof. Stephen Hawking and CERN in Geneva for the Fundamental Physics Prize worth millions for both deserving winners.
2012: I worked on three feature films: one with director Ken Loach on The Spirit of ’45 about post-war Britain, another with Tony Benn on a film portrait of his life and career called Will and Testament which won the audience award at Edinburgh Film Festival.
In 2012 I also worked for BBC Sport as a gallery producer/director on The London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay and on C4′s Dispatches:Nuclear War Games.
Artist Luke Fowler was nominated for the 2012 Turner prize – for his exhibition featuring All Divided Selves an archive feature length documentary film I helped him produce about R.D. Laing.
In 2011-2012 I worked on 50+ new exhibits for The National Football Museum which opened in Manchester in July 2012. I also helped Fly Films on Terence Davies drama Deep Blue Sea. In 2010/11 I worked on a feature film Perfect Sense with director David McKenzie (Hallam Foe) at Sigma films – the film stars Ewan McGregor and Eva Green.
Completed in 2010 is the film Africa United and Celebrating the Goal for Coke/Plum Pictures bringing to life the stories of World Cup goal celebrations. This was screened worldwide before the 2010 World Cup.
As an experienced archive consultant I am very familiar with archives around the world so know where to find the right images for ANY brief and ANY budget. I am also able to sort out international copyright clearance, dealing with talent and agents.
